Romanian Courses Curricula

The course covers a variety of language topics, focusing on the elements of communication.
Each lesson covers different aspects of reading, speaking, listening and writing:
-correct spelling
-pronunciation practice
-strong emphasis on conversation
-role plays in various situations
-debating various points of view
-emphasis on the ability to express points of view
-dialogues and vocabulary
-expression of opinions in writing
-new words explanations
-usage of audio materials
-grammar section

A1 level (beginner level)

At the end of the course, the student will be able to:
-pronounce clearly and accurately consonants, vowels, consonant clusters, and vowel combinations 
-pronounce the words correctly
-use greetings, usual phrases and make simple sentences
-write sentences and words correctly
-describe places and situations
-use punctuation and capitalization correctly
-identify the appropriate register to use for formal and informal contexts 
-talk about nationalities, daily activities, professions, personal details, holidays, jobs, likes and dislikes, past and future situations etc.
-ask for information
-use social formulas
-expressing good wishes and congratulations
-expressing the regret, the pleasure, and the displeasure
-asking for someone else's opinion
-requesting and giving the time
-recognize the main parts of speech
-use the correct verb forms, noun plurals
-make the noun-adjective agreement
-use and recognize the numerals

A2 level (pre-intermediate level)

At the end of the course, the student will be able to:
-recognize and read words accurately
-describe everyday life situations
-write usual sentences and messages
-ask questions about the texts read or viewed 
-ask for additional information 
-talk about the weather, cities, sports, hotel reservations, getting a taxi, working on the computer, means of transportation etc.
-recognize and use time phrases and prepositional phrases, main tenses
-make sentences using conjunctions and prepositional phrases
-take part in role-plays and conversations 
-make suggestions
-ask for and give information 
-write an informal letter/email
-write a curriculum vitae
-use the main tenses (past, future, subjunctive, conditional and imperative)
-use the verbs and the prepositions correctly
-use possessive and demonstrative pronouns and adjectives
-recognize the main grammatical cases: nominative, dative, genitive, accusative
-distinguish between different verb forms

B1 level (intermediate level)

At the end of the course, the student will be able to:
-relate a story briefly
-communicate about familiar topics
-understand texts with a high frequency in a conversation
-write messages and composition describing feelings, emotions, and impressions
-recognize and use indefinite and negative pronouns, personal pronouns in the dative and accusative case
-use ordinal numerals, interrogations, and exclamations
-write about a process
-give instructions and explanations
-describe events, objects, processes and other aspects of his/her work clearly 
-make connections between a text and personal experiences
-communicate opinions
-express opinions in writing
-identify points of view in the text 
-take part in communicative activities including role-plays
-talk about social activities, historic towns, cultural program, food, going to the opera, famous inventors and actors, organizing events and trips etc.

B2 level (advanced intermediate level)

At the end of the course, the student will be able to:
-read and understand newspapers articles on various topics
-write clear sentences, essays, detailed letters
-read with a large degree of independence 
-speak fluently and spontaneously about various topics
-present his/her own views
-provide details and defend a point of view 
-have a high degree in understanding conversations and written texts
-write clear and detailed descriptions of real events 
-recognize and use contractions, Past Conditional forms, Pluperfect indicative 
-use the passive voice
-understand written communication tasks
-focus on varying elements of vocabulary and grammatical structures
-respond to questions in an interview

C1 and C2 levels (advanced level)

At the end of the course, the student will be able to:
-express his views spontaneously, naturally
-develop particular topics
-understand specialized articles 
-understanding a conversation at normal speed 
-understand long and complex texts or compositions
-write long letters, essays, and reports
-have a good familiarity with idiomatic phrases and sentences
-emphasize key points to guide listeners in following important ideas 
-understand complex instructions in his/her field 
-understand any kind of spoken language
-debate various points of view to strengthen the ability to express points of view
-write professional and literary texts
-follow the essentials of lectures, talks and reports and other forms of academic/professional presentation which are propositionally and linguistically complex 
-understand most TV news, documentaries, live interviews, talk shows 
-understand video and radio broadcasts
-recognize and use the relative pronouns, conjunctions, supine and idioms
