Do I need a visa?
The
EU citizens do not need a visa in order to enter Romania. If you are
not an EU citizen, check visa and
work permit regulations with the Romanian embassy in your country.
Who can participate?
Anyone that is at least 18 years old.
How do I get to Sibiu?
By plane to Sibiu International Airport
The international airport of Sibiu is located on
the European road DN1, at 6 km west from the historical center of the
city. Some major companies (Lufthansa, Tarom, Austrian Airlines) and
some low-cost companies (Blue Air, Carpatair) operate flights to this
airport.

How to get Sibiu city center?
From and to Sibiu International Airport to Sibiu
city center there is the direct bus 11. Buy a ticket from the bus
office and get down to the bus station “Banatului” (the
University area). The ticket costs 1,5 lei (0,35 euros), make sure
you have it and punch it at the bus. From the bus station “Banatului”
to the hotel you can go by foot.
You can get a taxi in front of the new terminal
parking area.
By train to the train station Sibiu
The Sibiu train station (romanian: “Gara CFR
Sibiu”) is located close to the historical center of the city, on
“1 Decembrie 1918” Square no.6. The historical center and the
hotel is 6 minutes away by foot.

By plane to the Airports in Bucharest
If your plane lands on Henri Coandă airport (OTP)
or on Băneasa airport (BBU) in Bucharest, there are two ways to get
to Sibiu:
a) by coach from “Autogara Militari” (coach
station) to Sibiu
In order to get to “Autogara Militari”, you
need to get to a metro station. Take the bus 783 from Henri Coandă
Airport (Otopeni) until Piața Romană. A card (2 trips) costs 7 lei
(1.62 euros) and the bus trip takes around 60 minutes.
If your plane lands on Băneasa Airport, you can
take the bus 131 or 301 to Piața Romană. A bus ticket costs 1.3 lei
(0.32 euros). The bus trip takes around 30 minutes.
From Piața Romană, take the metro to Piața
Victoriei (1 metro station), from Piața Victoriei take the metro to
Eroilor (5 metro stations) and from Eroilor take the metro to Păcii
(Industriilor / Preciziei line – 4 stations). The metro trip from
airport to the metro station Păcii takes about 35 minutes. A card
costs 4 lei (0.93 euros) and has 2 trips. Go to the office tickets
and ask for “cartelă două călătorii”. Check Bucharest metro

From the metro station Păcii, Autogara Militari
is just a few meters away. From Autogara Militari, you can chose one
of the following coaches to Sibiu:
-Departure: 06:30; arrival: 12:06 (price: 51 lei =
11,8 euros)
-Departure: 07: 30; arrival: 12:30 (price: 40 lei
= 9.3 euros)
-Departure: 09: 00; arrival: 14:30 (price: 51 lei
= 11,8 euros)
-Departure: 09:45; arrival: 15:01 (price: 51 lei =
11,8 euros)
-Departure: 11:30; arrival: 16:30 (price: 40 lei =
9.3 euros)
-Departure: 12:00; arrival: 17:15 (price: 51 lei =
11,8 euros)
-Departure: 13:00; arrival: 18:00 (price: 35 lei =
8.1 euros)
-Departure: 16:30; arrival: 21:45 (price: 51 lei =
11,8 euros)

b) by train from Bucharest train station to Sibiu
In order to get to the mainrailway train
station (“Gara de Nord”, Bucharest),you can take the bus 780 from Henri Coandă
International
Airport (OTP) or
from Băneasa Airport (BBU).
A bus ticket costs 3.5 lei (0.81 euros) and can be bought from the
airport. The bus trip
takes around 40-50
minutes.
There are 3
trains from Gara de Nord Bucharest railway
train station to
Sibiu:
-Departure: 9:50; arrival: 15:25
-Departure: 15:35; arrival: 21:17
-Departure: 16:45; arrival: 22:31
The train ticket can be bought from the train
station and costs:
-1st class: 107 lei (24.9 euros)
-2nd class: 70.3 lei (16.3 euros)
